Scalable Event-Driven Commerce Architecture

Zap Commerce is an event-driven Amazon–ERP integration system designed for high-volume, fault-tolerant marketplace operations. Amazon orders are consumed asynchronously via SQS, processed through a resilient integration layer, and pushed to the ERP for fulfillment. Shipment tracking is retrieved from FedEx and synchronized back to Amazon. The platform also performs scheduled synchronization of inventory levels and pricing from the ERP to Amazon to ensure listing accuracy and availability. The architecture includes centralized logging and alerting, manual intervention mechanisms for stuck or failed workflows, and a persistent audit store that records every update to Amazon and ERP systems, including timestamps and last-error state, enabling reliable recovery and traceability.

Architecture Highlights
  • Event-driven order ingestion using Amazon SQS
  • Asynchronous ERP fulfillment integration
  • Bidirectional shipment, inventory, and pricing sync
  • Centralized logging with alerting
  • Manual retry & recovery controls
  • Full audit trail for integration operations
